What is a Giving Day?
A Giving Day is a 24-hour gamified fundraising event designed to bring together a community of new and current supporters to:
Acquire new donors.
Raise money to support your work.
How it works
The major donor’s generous gift goes four times further with a 24 hour rush campaign. For every dollar the community donates, 2/3/4 matchers will each give a dollar. For example x4 a $25 donation will effectively be $100!
The fast pace and short time frame causes a rush of donations at one time, allowing you to concentrate your marketing message into action.
Pledge or donate
A pledge is only processed if the campaign reaches its goal, proving that the community backs this cause—it’s all or nothing. Donations on the other hand are paid no matter if the target is reached
Donor data acquisition
With the fast time frame and associated digital marketing campaign you can engage lapsed donors and acquire new ones.
Higher ticket value
Donors tend to increase their donation value for this campaign style due to the matching incentive, often playing with the multiplier pop up to see their effective impact.
Engage large donors
Major donors appreciate that their gift is working hard to leverage community donors. They may also like the benefit cause - related marketing brings for their brand or foundation. Use this as a positive sell to engage new potential large donors and re-engage current supporters.
